Independent Advisory for Early-Stage Industrial Decisions
aprocesr is an open and adaptive engineering platform connecting experienced engineers, domain experts, and data scientists into collaborative project systems. Together with our clients, we co-create clarity and provide decision-ready guidance that bridges theory, practice, and real-world constraints.
Engineering Advisory for Complex Industrial Systems
aprocesr is a lean, globally active engineering advisory focused on early-stage feasibility, risk, and expectation alignment for complex industrial initiatives. We operate through a Hong Kong-based limited liability company and function as a flexible, collaborative network — assembling experienced engineers, data scientists, and domain experts on a project-specific basis.
This model allows aprocesr to remain independent, conflict-free, and focused on decision quality rather than solution delivery. We concentrate on the early phases of initiatives — where clarity, realism, and alignment most strongly determine downstream outcomes.
Our work spans both non-capital projects—such as diagnostics, feasibility studies, and technology evaluations—and participation in capital projects in advisory roles as part of multidisciplinary teams.
Core values: Clarity • Agility • Intelligent Engineering
Collaboration as a System
We approach every engagement as an adaptive system. Clients are active participants, not external observers. Working side-by-side with client teams, we capture tacit knowledge, test assumptions, identify constraints, and co-develop decision paths grounded in operational reality.
Depending on scope and complexity, we assemble domain expertise in process engineering, control, optimization, applied mathematics, and data science — ensuring that assumptions, methods, and expectations remain as simple as possible, and only as sophisticated as necessary.
Meet the Founder
Sam Matic, P.Eng., is a Canadian professional engineer with decades of international experience in industrial automation, process control, energy, and project management. His career includes roles with organizations such as Suncor, Rockwell Automation, Gerdau, and Siempelkamp—spanning industries from oil & gas and energy to steel and engineered wood.
His core expertise lies in process control and automation, complemented by integrative work across systems engineering, applied mathematics, complexity science, and project strategy. This perspective enables him to connect technical depth with practical decision-making across both vendor and client environments.
Across these roles, Sam developed a strong focus on the earliest stages of projects — where unclear assumptions, unrealistic expectations, and misunderstood system behavior most often lead to costly downstream failure. Drawing on systems thinking, complexity science, and requirements engineering, his work centers on helping organizations understand feasibility limits and make defensible decisions before commitments become difficult to reverse.
Having seen how rigid corporate structures can limit innovation, Sam shaped aprocesr as a flexible, open system—one that assembles expertise around real challenges and evolves with every engagement.

Research and Collaboration Network
aprocesr collaborates with a network of academic researchers and experienced consultants across applied mathematics, control systems, modeling, and data analytics. This network supports engagements requiring advanced analysis, hybrid modeling approaches, or deeper technical exploration.
Collaborators combine academic depth with industrial experience, while mentoring young engineers and sharing knowledge to keep the platform adaptive, rigorous, and continuously evolving.
